August Newsletter
August blog from ElevateHer International — Empowering women to heal, grow, and thrive across the globe!
Letter From Our CEO
Dear Friends,
As summer settles here in the U.S., it often brings a change of pace. While many people use this season to rest and recharge, it has also become an important season of reflection, prayer, and strategic planning for ElevateHer..
This past month, I intentionally slowed down, and took some time to unplug and recharge. I was reminded that creating space to recharge doesn't slow our mission, it strengthens it. It brings greater clarity, sharpens our focus, and a deeper understanding of where God is leading us next.
As you'll see throughout this newsletter, we're launching new initiatives, strengthening partnerships, and expanding opportunities for women to heal from trauma, grow in faith, and become leaders in their communities. While we're excited about these new opportunities, our greatest priority isn't simply reaching more people; it's going deeper. We want to walk alongside women for the long haul, invest in leaders, and build communities where healing can flourish for generations.
Going deeper requires more than a dedicated staff. It requires a committed community.
If ElevateHer's mission resonates with you, I'd like to invite you to take the next step. Share our work with someone who believes in the power of healing. Introduce us to a church, foundation, or business that shares our vision. Become a monthly donor or make a one-time gift that helps sustain this work. Every connection, every prayer, and every gift expands our capacity to serve women around the world.
Thank you for believing that when women heal, entire communities are transformed. We're grateful to have you on this journey with us, and we're excited for what lies ahead.
With gratitude,
Dieula Previlon

Sustainers Program
Last month, we launched the ElevateHer Sustainers Program, a community of faithful supporters who believe that healing shouldn't stop because funding does.
The greatest barrier to empowering women isn't a lack of passion or vision; it's the unpredictability of resources. By becoming a Sustainer, you provide the steady, reliable support that allows ElevateHer to continue training leaders, facilitating Healing Circles, and equipping women to heal, grow and thrive.
Here’s what our previous board member said about why she became a monthly donor:
“Giving has deepened my connection to this work in ways I didn’t expect.”
Becoming a Sustainer is simple. Choose a monthly gift, starting at just $5 per month, and your automatic recurring donation will provide dependable funding for this life-changing work. You can update or cancel your gift at any time.
Your consistent generosity helps ensure that as long as women need healing, ElevateHer will be there.
Kenya KE | August 23 - September 13
In just a few weeks, the ElevateHer team will return to Kenya and this year, we'll spend three weeks investing in women leaders who are transforming their communities.
Week One takes us to South Rift, about three hours outside Nairobi, where we'll train church leaders, community organizers, and pastors' wives. Together, we'll explore how trauma impacts individuals and communities while equipping these leaders to become healing agents. Just as importantly, they'll have the opportunity to recognize and begin healing from the trauma in their own lives, because healthy leaders create healthier communities.
Week Two brings us back to Nairobi, where we'll reunite with the incredible women leaders we trained last year. This time, we'll equip them to facilitate Healing Circles so they can confidently lead others on the journey toward healing and flourishing.
During this week, we'll also spend time at Africa International University (AIU), partnering with faculty and staff to strengthen their work with students. Together, we'll explore ElevateHer's model of integrating psychology and theology, equipping university leaders with trauma-informed tools that prepare students to lead from a place of healing and wholeness.
Week Three takes us to Mombasa. You may remember this community from last year's sewing machine initiative. Our partnership didn't end there. We'll continue walking alongside church leaders, community organizers, and pastors' wives, providing trauma-informed training that strengthens both leaders and the communities they serve.
Would you pray for our team as we travel, teach, and encourage these remarkable women? And if you're able, would you consider making a gift today? Your generosity helps ensure that every woman who comes seeking hope and healing can receive the training she needs to become a catalyst for change in her community.
Together, we're equipping women to heal and helping communities flourish.
Join the mission and give a scarf to a woman in Kenya
Every woman who participates in an ElevateHer training receives three things: practical training materials, a copy of Does God See Me?, and a thoughtful gift that reminds her she is seen, valued, and deeply loved.
As we prepare to serve women leaders in Kenya this August, we'd love for you to be part of that experience. We've created an Amazon gift list where you can choose a beautiful scarf for one of the women attending our training. It's a simple gift, but one that communicates dignity, encouragement, and care.
Please visit our Kenya Gift List to select a scarf. When you check out, be sure to select "Share your information" so we can personally thank you for your generosity.
Thank you for helping us remind women around the world that they are seen, loved, and never alone.
”Est-Ce-Que Dieu Me Voit?” Is Here!
The wait is over! We are thrilled to announce that the French translation of Does God See Me?—Est-Ce Que Dieu Me Voit?—is officially complete and now available to order on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats.
This translation is an important milestone in ElevateHer's mission to make trauma-informed, faith-centered resources accessible to women and leaders around the world. French-speaking women now have the opportunity to experience this message of healing, hope, and God's unwavering presence in their own language.
You're hearing the news first!
Would you help us spread the word? Share this exciting release with your friends, churches, and communities. And if you know of a women's group, ministry, or leadership team that would benefit from receiving copies, we'd love to hear from you.
Together, we're expanding access to healing, one language, one story, and one woman at a time.
Save the Date: Trauma-Informed Leadership Cohort
Registration is now open for ElevateHer's Trauma-Informed Leadership Cohort, beginning October 1–November 5, 2026. Join us every Thursday from 7:00–9:00 PM EST on Zoom for one of ElevateHer's most anticipated leadership experiences.
Designed for pastors, chaplains, community organizers, nonprofit leaders, and HealHer Circle facilitators, this six-week cohort equips women and men to lead from a place of healing. Together, we'll explore trauma-informed leadership through biblical reflection, practical teaching, and experiential exercises that cultivate self-awareness, deepen compassion, and prepare participants to create safe, healing spaces for others.
Here's what one participant shared:
"This training was so amazing, and I loved every session. It's taking me through self-reflection, helping me be more present and more intentional with people. I'm learning to make it a true safe space and not react to what people are saying. I even do the grounding exercises with my children."
If you're ready to grow as a trauma-informed leader and become equipped to facilitate healing in your community, plan to join us beginning October 1.
Register today and be part of the next generation of leaders helping women heal, grow, and thrive.

Ground Practice: A Walk of Noticing
Moving from survival to thriving doesn't happen overnight. When we've spent so long rushing, solving problems, and carrying heavy burdens, slowing down can feel unfamiliar.
This summer, give yourself permission to move at a different pace.
Take a walk in nature. Leave your destination behind and simply notice. Notice the warmth of the sun on your skin. The sound of birds. The movement of the trees. The colors of the flowers. The rhythm of your breath. Feel your feet connecting with the ground beneath you.
There is nowhere to rush to. Nothing to accomplish. No racing thoughts to chase.
Just walk. Just notice.
As you breathe deeply, remind yourself:
"In this moment, I am safe. I can slow down. I am allowed to experience beauty."
Sometimes healing begins not by doing more, but by noticing what has been there all along.
Let’s Meet…
I want to thank the many partners who have already met with me so together we can dream of the next phase of ElevateHer.
If you’d simply like to connect with me directly, I would absolutely love that. You can schedule time with me using my personal Google calendar link below.
