Betty Jean

Advisory Board Member, Consultant

Betty Jean, MA, LPC is an innovative and passionate Helping Professional whose focus is on helping people and communities across the globe transform from broken to healed.  As a Licensed Professional Counselor with 10+ years of experience, Betty has focused her career and practice on children and women dealing with chronic illnesses, emotional/behavioral problems, and who have experienced significant traumas.

As an Educator, Betty finds deep satisfaction in developing and mentoring others to further serve their own communities. This focus has taken Betty across the globe as a Trauma Outreach Consultant, teaching, supporting, and empowering women, children, churches and entire communities in the US, Africa and Haiti to live their lives beyond their places of trauma (loss and pain).

As a Woman of Faith, Betty believes in the power of God to bring us fully to the place of health and wholeness in our bodies, hearts, minds, and spirit.  She serves as a Christ-centered spiritual leader and mentoring her community, helping others on their journey to knowing God more intimately and sincerely.

Still Betty’s greatest joy is being a daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  She values the collective experience of the family and its impact in creating trusted places for healing and strength for those who have been broken and who are weary.

Betty is an 8 year cancer survivor who lives her life by the words of an old traditional hymn: “If I could help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain”.  And to make life a little bit sweeter, Betty enjoys singing, songwriting, traveling and baking cookies with her nieces and nephews.

Betty earned a BS in Human Ecology from Rutgers University-Cook College (1998). She earned a MA in Clinical Counseling from the Alliance Graduate School of Counseling, Nyack College (2005).  Betty is a NJ Licensed Professional Counselor.
